Day Excursions

Agafay, Ourika Valley, Ouzoud Falls, Essaouira & more

Marrakech sits at the gateway to some of Morocco's most extraordinary natural and cultural landscapes, and a day trip from the city opens up a world of possibilities. Within an hour's drive, the Agafay Desert offers a dramatically different face of Morocco — a vast, rocky plain that stretches to the horizon, punctuated by luxury desert camps, roaming camels, and silence so complete it feels restorative. In the other direction, the Ourika Valley unfolds as a lush corridor of terraced farmland, Berber villages, and riverbanks lined with willows, rising steadily toward the snowcapped peaks of the High Atlas. Following the river upstream leads to the Seven Falls of Setti Fatma, a rewarding and relatively easy hike that rewards with cool mountain air and spectacular views.

Those willing to travel a little further are rewarded handsomely. The Ouzoud Waterfalls, roughly two and a half hours from Marrakech, are the highest waterfalls in North Africa, tumbling more than one hundred metres in a series of cascades surrounded by wild olive trees and inhabited by colonies of Barbary macaque monkeys. In the other direction, the coastal city of Essaouira offers a complete change of pace — a UNESCO-listed medina of blue and white, Atlantic sea breezes, fresh grilled sardines on the harbour, and one of the finest windsurfing beaches on the Moroccan coast.

All of our day excursions are arranged with private vehicles and experienced local drivers, making the journey itself comfortable and enjoyable. We can organise guided departures or simply provide curated itineraries for independent exploration, and we tailor every outing to the size and preferences of your group.
